Here is some music I made from my project this summer. Went with 'The Entrepreneur' character. I played this pre-recorded music (a valiha solo and me and my friends from Berlin laughing), and performed a little dance using only Special Opps hand signals!

This comes from a stanza in a poem i wrote a few months ago...made the image when i was in Berlin...

Let the Mechanical Mother Goose tell the story:

Where are the candles kept?

I am alone on this ceiling,

and wasn't even born timely to!

How do I want to be buried?

A whiff of me was not enough...

Berlin Project

These images come from the project i did in Berlin. It was a solo performance where i played these 5 different characters. That was quite a challenge...

I made a little space and had these posted on the wall where i performed. I kind of used the images as a reference/tarot card/ shrine sort of thing. It turned out better than i expected!

Hey everyone!

It has been too long! I will post some of the work i did over the summer very soon. I just have to make my way over to a larger scanner somehow...

In the meantime, I did the album artwork for my ridiculously talented friend Jason Anthony Harris. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check out his album on itunes here. I also sing a bit and play harmonium a bit on the record...(!!!)

'autobiography of red' project

Hello! I am posting a 7 piece series that i recently created for one of my classes. In short, I took fragments of text from Anne Carson's 7 'photograph poems' that appear towards the end of her verse novel, Autobiography of Red, a book i adore. A few of the images are closely related to the book, but I hope you enjoy them nonetheless!

This is one of those cases where the scan and the original are very, very different...but i kind of like the way the scan made the angel look much more angelic (invisible). Apparently, grey ink doesn't show up very well :(

Old movies

I just realized I never posted the two films I made as final projects for school last semester. I had never done anything like this before! 

The first was inspired by the last few moments of Hoffmann's fairytale "The Sandman," and is an experiment in synaesthesia. The second was a project I did for my Spanish Surrealism class...but I just kind of made what I wanted to. 

I made them within a few weeks of one another in May of 2008. Did all the music, too. I won't say more than that, except that they are totally bananas/bonkers!

Oh and you have to crank up the music a bit on the Hoffmann one because I had no idea what i was doing:)

Newsies

Hey everyone!

Bear with me here while I start up a new semester! There are definitely more cartoons to come. Maybe even some paintings....and some music....

But in the meantime, let me share with you some news. This summer I took a 5 week course at Parsons with one of my favorite cartoonists Lauren Weinstein .
