i attempt the invisible line of longitude with my teeth

This is one of those cases where the scan and the original are very, very different...but i kind of like the way the scan made the angel look much more angelic (invisible). Apparently, grey ink doesn't show up very well :(

Old movies

I just realized I never posted the two films I made as final projects for school last semester. I had never done anything like this before!

The first was inspired by the last few moments of Hoffmann's fairytale "The Sandman," and is an experiment in synaesthesia. The second was a project I did for my Spanish Surrealism class...but I just kind of made what I wanted to.

I made them within a few weeks of one another in May of 2008. Did all the music, too. I won't say more than that, except that they are totally bananas/bonkers!

Oh and you have to crank up the music a bit on the Hoffmann one because I had no idea what i was doing:)

Hey everyone!

Bear with me here while I start up a new semester! There are definitely more cartoons to come. Maybe even some paintings....and some music....

But in the meantime, let me share with you some news. This summer I took a 5 week course at Parsons with one of my favorite cartoonists Lauren Weinstein . She was truly the best cartooning teacher I ever could have asked for. I hope you check out all of her hilarious and beautiful work. Start with her latest:

Kickass, right? This past week, she wrote about me on her blog! How supercool is this:

Thanks to Lauren, and everyone for their love and support!

magic hour

Here are some excerpts from a 17-page comic I worked on over the month of July- in no particular order. I'm still working on some of the panels. I hope to finish them soon! It's a poem, and there is no title to the piece right now...
